Protect
Traffickers prey on the most vulnerable. We must protect them.
Men, women and children across the globe are at risk of being exploited. The common theme is vulnerability. These are young people in care, vulnerable individuals with disabilities, families where lucrative job offers abroad promise an opportunity to provide for loved ones.
But we are collaborating to protect families and individuals most at risk from traffickers.
Here’s some examples of how we protect the most vulnerable.
We work across borders
Traffickers prey on vulnerable men, women and children, often persuading them to travel across borders and continents. We train Border Guards to help identify individuals whilst they are being moved and ensure they remain safe.
We educate communities at risk of trafficking
Since we began in 2008, we’ve educated over 176,013 vulnerable men, women and children. All live in danger of being approached by traffickers and coerced into giving up their freedom for a false promise. We raise awareness of modern slavery issues and set up local vigilence groups.
We help survivors and the most vulnerable establish new ways to earn money
Nayanika is just one example. We helped Nayanika to start a grocery stall in her local community. Her business has since expanded to new much larger premises, and Nayanika is flourishing in her recovery. Economic empowerment is essential for reducing the risk of re-trafficking.
We empower people to spot the signs of slavery
We provide specialist training to front line workers, including police officers, border force teams, health professionals and judges. We also raise awareness among the public - helping them to spot potential exploitation and raise their concerns.
Donate today to help bring freedom
There are millions of people living in slavery today. Your support could help set someone free and bring those responsible to justice.
