Facilitation of Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) in the Philippines
New analysis from a study conducted by Justice and Care, with Dublin City University, and De La Salle University, Manila shows that the trafficking of children through Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) in the Philippines, has reached epidemic levels, sustained by global demand and a – ‘cottage industry’ on the ground. This important and novel study – in which researchers spoke directly with convicted local OSAEC traffickers in the Philippines – explores how OSAEC, including livestreaming of abuse, is happening on the ground, and the environment in which it operates and thrives.
