Associate - Community Interventions


Primary Accountabilities

- Support the implementation of the short-term plans and goals defined to align to long-term strategy for the Community Interventions discipline
- Ensure a sustained focus on the welfare of the survivors of trafficking and the vulnerable community that are part of the program
- Manage intelligence activities and participate in networking activities in order to identify potential partners; develop collaborative partnerships with relevant government authorities as well as local organisations and partners in the community that can support JC in achieving its objective of reducing vulnerability and preventing human trafficking
- Conduct awareness and community engagement programs including aimed at educating communities and relevant stakeholders on the issue so as to prevent vulnerable people from being trafficked
- Through community engagement initiatives identify and build relations with volunteers, interns and like-minded community leaders
- Responsible for submitting timely and accurate reports on the progress


Experience, Skills and Competencies

 - A Post Graduate qualification in Social Work, Rural Management or any other relevant discipline with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a reputed development organisation working with vulnerable communities
- Past experience of conducting awareness building activities and capacity building of stakeholders including government officials, religious leaders, other influencers, educational institutions and CBO’s) within the community
- Experience of working with partner organisations
- Exposure to cross-cultural work environment and complex operating environment with previous experience of working with matrixed and multidisciplinary teams is highly desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as high level of computer skills specifically MS office (familiarity with use of Google Drive)
- Ability to meet deadlines and turn around time without compromising quality
- Excellent problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation and interpersonal skills and the ability to build and nurture effective relationships with diverse stakeholders across different levels, both internally and externally
- Passion, humility, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed
- Working within a team and dedicated to promoting an environment that is oriented to deliver the highest quality work
- Willingness to travel as required
