Justice & Care launches Spice for Life campaign to celebrate South Asian Heritage Month
July 22, 2026
For this South Asian Heritage Month, we are delighted to launch Spice for Life in partnership with Rajah (part of Westmill Foods) and Urban Rajah – a new community fundraising initiative celebrating the power of food, culture and connection while helping survivors of trafficking and exploitation rebuild their lives.
“Food has always been my way of bringing people together. Through our partnership with Justice & Care and the Spice for Life Supper Club campaign, we’re proving that sharing a meal can do more than fill plates – it can help change lives.
You don’t need to do something extraordinary to make a difference. Invite a few friends, share some great food, and together we can help more people find their freedom. Because freedom tastes so good.” – Ivor Peters, Founder, Urban Rajah
Across South Asia and throughout the diaspora, food has always been about more than what’s on the table. It’s how stories are passed down, traditions are preserved, and communities come together. This July, Justice & Care is inviting people across the UK to gather friends and family around the table for a meal with purpose.
At the heart of the campaign are 15 recipes shared by our Champion Survivors in Bangladesh. Through sharing their lived experience, these courageous individuals are helping to raise awareness of modern slavery, inspire hope and protect others. These dishes they have chosen to share are deeply personal – carrying stories of resilience, healing and home.
“Seeing everyone happily enjoying the food makes my sadness disappear. Cooking is my medicine for wellbeing,” said one Champion Survivor.
Whether you gather your family around the table for lunch, supper club, a BBQ or dinner party, your event and joy has the power to fuel our transformational work.
Thanks to the generous support of our campaign partner, Rajah, a limited number of complimentary ingredient hampers will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for those signing up to host a Spice for Life meal.
Every Spice for Life meal will help raise vital funds for survivors of modern slavery. Just £225 could help reunite a survivor with their family after they have been torn apart by trafficking and exploitation, providing a pathway back to safety, dignity and hope.
Ingredients are going fast! To register your interest in hosting a Spice for Life meal, email meghan.wimlett@justiceandcare.org.
