Justice & Care’s Head of Policy and Advocacy wins Outstanding Contribution Award
October 19, 2026
Justice & Care’s Head of Policy and Advocacy, Tatiana Gren-Jardan was the recipient of the Outstanding Contribution Award at The Human Trafficking Foundation Anti-Slavery Day Awards.
Hosted by Rt Hon Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP at Speaker’s House on 12 October, the awards recognised the work of organisations and individuals across the anti-slavery sector.
With more than a decade of experience in the UK anti-slavery sector, Tatiana has worked to ensure that modern slavery is on the political agenda. Championing victims’ rights has been the heart of her work, with a commitment to their support and entitlements remaining central to prevention of exploitation and prosecution of traffickers.
Among her significant contributions is the sustained campaign to criminalise cuckooing – the practice of criminals taking over the homes of vulnerable people. Initiated in 2021 through Justice & Care’s policy partnership with the Centre for Social Justice, the campaign drew on insights from survivors, police officers, Victim Navigators and grassroots organisations to help drive legislative change.
Tatiana publicly described the moment the recommendation became law as “one of those rare days in the career of a policy and advocacy professional when an idea and recommendation born five years ago turns into law”.
The Decade of Dignity: A Strategic Vision for Eradicating Modern Slavery in the UK is another landmark initiative that Tatiana has played a key role in. The cross-sector initiative, united leading anti-slavery organisations behind a shared vision for systemic reform. Tatiana helped convene charities, practitioners, businesses, policy experts and survivor advocates to develop the common roadmap for the next decade of the UK’s anti-slavery response. The report launched at the House of Commons on 17 June, before parliamentarians, civil servants, businesses, practitioners and survivors, receiving high praise.
Tatiana Gren-Jardan, Head of Policy and Advocacy, Justice & Care, said:
“I feel delighted to receive the Anti-Slavery Day award for Outstanding Contribution to Reduce Vulnerabilities (Advocacy). In my 14-year professional journey in the UK anti-slavery sector, I’ve had many ups and downs, but learnt never to stop.
Meaningful and lasting change does not come over night, it requires time, commitment and perseverance. Receiving the award was that wonderful moment of recognition that encouraged me to reflect on the past years with gratitude and celebration. But the fight against modern slavery goes on.”
We are so proud to call Tatiana our colleague and congratulate all nominee’s and winners from this years The Human Trafficking Foundation Anti-Slavery Day Awards.
