Brian’s Story

January 21, 2022

Our Romanian Navigator has worked closely with the UK police, Romanian authorities and our UK Navigators to safely repatriate Brian* – a survivor of labour exploitation.

Brian has returned to a situation of extreme poverty in Romania but has chosen this in order to be near to his sick father.

We have provided Brian with food and wood for the winter and he is very grateful for the emotional and practical support from our Navigator. Brian shared:

“Thank you for everything, for calling me. You are calling me more often than my mother.”

Following our Navigator’s support, Brian agreed to speak with the police and is keen to pursue compensation.  His testimony will form part of attempts to prosecute a European-wide organised crime group (OCG) involved in the exploitation of Romanian nationals.
