Rehena’s Story

Our Champion Survivor programme sees survivors who have determinedly rebuilt their lives use their lived experience to help others on the path to recovery. Rehena, who was just 14 when she was trafficked to a red-light district in India, is one of Justice & Care’s Aftercare Case Facilitators. She shares her remarkable journey, demonstrating that lives can be rebuilt and hope restored.

Mary’s Story

Mary was trafficked to the UK by a Ugandan UN judge, who promised opportunity, but then forced her to work as a maid and childminder. She was isolated and controlled. With a Justice & Care specialist Victim Navigator by her side, she found the courage to speak out. Her bravery led to justice.

Jessie’s Story

Exploitation is all around us. Jessie shares how she discovered it on her everyday commute.

Saleha’s Story

Today, Saleha stands proudly as a business owner, a Champion Survivor, and a young woman who is a testament to resilience and empowerment. Her past of exploitation does not define her.

Ruby’s Story

After being rescued from forced prostitution, Ruby faced harassment and lost her hope all over again. But against all odds, Ruby courageously turned her life around and reclaimed her future.

Salma’s Story

Salma dreamt of becoming a nurse. One day on the way to school she was abducted, taken from her home town in Bangladesh across the boarder to India. She was sold to a brothel, beaten and abused. Justice & Care partnered with police to support her out of exploitation and reunite her with her family in Bangladesh.
