Justice & Care voted one of Simmons & Simmons’ Charities of Year

May 27, 2025

Justice & Care is proud to have been voted one of Simmons & Simmons’ 2025 Charities of the Year.

Together with Simmons & Simmons, we look forward to driving forward our work to tackle modern slavery and human trafficking – supporting survivors to rebuild their lives, securing justice against those responsible and sparking systemic change.

The partnership will also help us to address the root causes of this crime and to unlock new possibilities to disrupt traffickers’ business models – increasing risk while reducing accessibility to what they consider their key commodity: vulnerable people. Additionally, it includes pro bono support like practical casework assistance for our survivors.

Modern slavery is one of the greatest human rights issues of our time, impacting an estimated 50 million people worldwide and, according to our own research, more than 100,000 in the UK.

A statement from Simmons & Simmons said: ‘We are delighted to partner with Justice and Care on a charitable and pro bono basis to raise awareness of the crucial role private industry can play in the fight against human trafficking and modern slavery.

‘We have been deeply impressed by their innovative responses to this crisis, particularly through their Victim Navigator Scheme and extensive policy work.

‘We’re so proud of this collaboration and the work we’re doing together to uphold justice, equality, and human dignity to create a safer and more equitable world for all.’

James Clarry, Justice & Care, CEO said: ‘We are thrilled to be named one of Simmons & Simmons Charities of the Year.

‘We have been so impressed to see the senior partnership of the Firm take leadership on the topic of fighting modern slavery and look forward to increasing our impact together.

‘This partnership will help to deliver life-changing results and exemplify the power of purpose-led collaboration to drive real change.’

Operating across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the US, Simmons & Simmons is a leading international law firm with over 340 partners and 2,200 staff. It applies expertise to four highly regulated sectors: asset management and investment funds, financial institutions, healthcare and life sciences, and technology, media and telecommunications.

This partnership builds on previous collaboration with the Firm, which includes a roundtable on our approach to fighting violence against women and girls, as well as our involvement in their 2025 International Women’s Day campaign.

This campaign saw our Victim Navigator programme lead featured as a spotlight. Our flagship programme sees specialist workers embedded in police forces across the UK and support survivors to bring their traffickers to justice
